We believe in the importance of play and natural exploration. We believe it is an integral part of a child's Early Years Foundation Stage and supports the beginning of each child's educational journey.
Through play children develop, amoung many other areas, language skills, their emotions and creativity, social and intellectual skills. For most children play is natural and for those who need a little encouragement the staff at Brefne Nursery School are there to help. During play children practise amd develop new skills and ideas, they take risks, show imagination and solve problems. We provide time, space and resources to encourage this. We observe play and join in when invited, watching and listening before intervening. We value play and provide a safe but challenging environment helping to support and extend learning and development.
